Xiaomi introduced its second electric model, the YU7 SUV, in Beijing and revealed its price. The company announced that sales reached an impressive 289,000 units within the first hour of its launch.
The version of the Xiaomi YU7 with an 830 km CLTC range was launched with a starting price of 253,500 yuan (approximately $35,300). This price point is $1,400 cheaper than the entry-level Tesla Model Y in China.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun predicts that the demand for the YU7 will be three times greater than that for the Xiaomi SU7, which was released last year. When the SU7 launched on March 28, 2024, it received 50,000 pre-orders in 27 minutes and 90,000 in the first 24 hours, filling its entire production capacity for the year. In total, over 272,000 SU7 units were delivered between March 2024 and May 2025.
What are the Xiaomi YU7’s Specifications?

The Xiaomi YU7 is offered in three different trim levels: Standard, Pro, and Max. Prices range from 253,000 to 329,900 yuan ($35,300 – $46,000).
- The Standard version offers a range of 830 km with a 96.3 kWh LFP battery. Its single-motor, rear-wheel drive (RWD) system with 235 kW of power allows it to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.88 seconds.
- The Pro version features an all-wheel drive (AWD) dual-motor system with a total power output of 365 kW. It has a range of 770 km with the same battery and is priced at 279,900 yuan ($39,000).
- The Max version boasts a dual-motor AWD system producing 508 kW of power and 866 Nm of torque, paired with a 101.7 kWh NMC battery. This model, which offers a 760 km range, accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 3.23 seconds. Its price is 329,900 yuan ($46,000).
All YU7 models utilize Xiaomi’s self-developed 800V high-voltage architecture and its V6S Plus motors, which can reach speeds of up to 22,000 RPM. The vehicle supports fast charging up to 528 kW, allowing it to charge from 10% to 80% in just 12 minutes. A 15-minute charge can provide up to 620 km of range.
The YU7 is a 5-door, 5-seater SUV developed on Xiaomi’s Modena platform. It measures 4999 mm in length, 1996 mm in width, 1608 mm in height, and has a 3000 mm wheelbase.

The Xiaomi YU7 is positioned as a direct competitor to the Tesla Model Y. Sales of the Model Y in China have shown a 24% decline in the first five months of 2025 compared to the previous year. The YU7 will compete in the Chinese market against several rivals, including the BYD Sealion 07, Zeekr 7X, Onvo L60, and Xpeng G7.
